An early morning start to your tour driving off through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, which is known for its lush vegetation. In the Atlantic lowlands we stop at Guapiles for a short lunch break continuing on past banana plantations to reach Caño Blanco or La Pavona where we board a riverboat. After an approx 2 hour cruise along the breathtaking coastal channels and tropical rivers we reach the Tortuguero National Park.
This area protects one of the most important nesting sites for endangered Green Sea Turtle. En route to your hotel we make a short stop in the village of Tortuguero. Your guide will show you how the local people live and at the offices of the National Park Authority you can purchase entrance tickets for the Tortuguero National Park. You continue on by boat to the lodge and following a warm welcome and lunch you are off for an afternoon to visit the Turtle Museum or you can spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge.
